Message: I know this is stretching, but does anyone recall if George Van Deurs was in the squadron before becoming commander (1939-Jul-05)? How about Leon W. Johnson (1941-Jul-22)? Francis R Jones (1941-Dec-11)? On 1941-Dec-13, Lt.Cmdr Jones wrote the Action Report for the Dec-07 attack. Was he actually there? What happened to Lt.Cmdr Johnson? I don't have any history of W.P. Schroeder before 1942-Apr; how did a Lieutenant become acting commander and was he in the squadron beforehand? Clayton C. Marcy took over 1942-May-04; did he also come from another squadron?
